I’m a mom, so I understand how pregnancy feels. I know how incredible it is to feel your baby move and to know that your body knows on its own how to do the astonishing work of growing a complete human being. I also know that some days the discomfort makes you want to cry, and that sometimes you look in the mirror and feel like a stranger to yourself. I want to bring you back to your own beauty, to remind you that you are at your most creative and powerful right now. My photography is not simply about final images, but also about experience. I will make sure you feel special during your session, as you should during these fleeting days.
Maternity images are about celebrating and uplifting you. I want you to feel beautiful and empowered and to remember to cherish your own body as it does the amazing work of bringing your child into your arms. I love this time and this experience (enough that I literally wrote a dissertation about it), and I’m so honored and proud to help create lasting memories for you and your family.

Our Maternity Photoshoot Process
Consultation
We will discuss wardrobe and preparation, and I'll answer any questions you have about what to expect from your session.
Photo Session
Sessions take place on location. I'll guide you through poses and help draw out your genuine joy and anticipation.
Editing
After your session, I'll custom-edit your photos, capturing your smiles and that baby bump!
Ordering Session
Once your images are ready, you will have a ordering session where you can view all the edited photos and choose what products to purchase.

About Rachel Smook Photography
I’m Rachel, and I’m a wedding, portrait, and Bar Mitzvah photographer based in Massachusetts and willing to travel as far as your dreams will take you. As the parent of teenagers, I’ve learned that everything is better with some humor thrown in, and I’ve also learned how FAST life goes by. Photography gives me a way to stop time, both for my family and for yours. I’m a sucker for the little details: those tiny fingers wrapped around yours, the way he looks at you when you come down the aisle, the way you laughed at that little shimmy she did on the dance floor. It’s the little moments that make the sweetest memories, and I’m a feelings junkie, so I am THERE for them.
